Here is the scoop! Collierville TN Schnucks has been included on the Can Across America website under events. Our event will be August 13, 2011 at Schnucks Collierville TN. 38017. Class will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:30 ish. There is a $5.00 fee and seating will be limited. This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to join us. You can register by stopping by Schnucks Cooks at the Store or going to the link below.
Since most canned items should be stored for two weeks before opening. I will be a buzz bee getting ready for the class. Canning is a social event so bring your friends so that your canning party will be a complete success. Most of you know we like to sample our projects.
Here is a tip for canning with a group. Since canning jelly requires about six jars, have each of the four participants bring the ingredients for their favorite jelly, jam or preservers. When complete let each person have a jar of each one then the two extra jars go to the person that brought the ingredients. This way everyone gets a nice selection. Remember jellies and jams last a long time in the fridge. That would be six months worth of jam at my house.
